phling! is a hosted, mobile, music social networking service that enables wireless operators to offer the teen and young adult market segment a highly addictive community music service. With its easy and intuitive user interface, subscribers enjoy listening to their entire music collection stored on their home PC, find others in the community with similar tastes in music, submit and read song reviews, and discover new music.

phling! is the first Java application for mobile phones that provides a great and easy to use way of being part of a mobile community that can stream music, podcasts, and pictures from the home PC to the phone using highly scalable and secure networking.

There are two components to the phling! service:

phling! Phone App

This is the Java application that is downloaded over the air to the user's mobile phone. It's great user interface and ability to display entire music, podcast, and picture collections makes it superior to browser based solutions. The phling! Phone App provides access to the entire phling! community of users.

phling! My PC

Downloaded to a user's home PC, this component finds all the media on a user's computer and makes it available to the phling! Phone App. The phling! My PC ensures that audio and picture files are suitably transcoded and sent to the destination phone over the wireless network. Images sent from the phone are also stored automatically on the PC. The phling! My PC application can support multiple phling! users so families can access their collections stored on one home computer.
